The Navesink riverfront is the draw and the complication. Riverfront rooms and tented terraces photograph beautifully and sit in open air off the water, so anything outdoors gets ballast and a wind call as a matter of course. Under a tent the frame is fine; on an open terrace in a spring breeze it needs weighting properly, and we do not treat that as optional.
In town it is a different job. The Broad Street restaurants and the venues around the theatres are compact rooms with street frontage and no dock, so we take the earliest access we can get and keep the load-in short. Red Bank's evening trade starts early, and a van sitting outside at five o'clock helps nobody.
