The ballroom and conference floors here are built for freight — marshalling areas, service lifts, dedicated routes that never cross a guest corridor. The trade is that access is scheduled and credentialled rather than casual, so we need the venue's vendor requirements well in advance. Where we have them, load-in is as smooth as anywhere we work. Where we do not, a van can sit at a service entrance for an hour, and that is a wholly avoidable way to lose time.
Anything on a deck, terrace or boardwalk-facing space is an outdoor install in an ocean wind, and we treat it as one. Ballast, a weather call the day before, and a willingness to move indoors. Salt air also means we prefer not to leave a wall standing outside overnight where it can be avoided.
